PRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION, MARKETING,
EXHIBITION
Distribution is very expensive, and some of
the best independent films are often unnoticed. Companies such as film
festivals and Fox Searchlight. We need to find someone or some way that the
film is going to be spread around.
Exhibition, how do we
get this film out and shown to you. Exchange, how the film is viewed. (Netflix,
DVD, Blu-Ray, BSkyB etc.)
CONGLOMERATES
When two or more
companies come together and engage in a multi-industry company. We can invest
in many different parts of media in this way, we aren’t just talking about
movies.
20th Century Fox
Universal
Warner Bros
Sony
Disney
Netflix and Amazon are their competitor.
Horizontal and
Vertical integration.
Going Down, when the
same company owns all of the stages of film producing. Therefore, they receive all
of the profits.
When we work with other companies, then this is vertical integration. Lots of companies on one.
