Gasoline - Halsey

As many would know, I am a particularly large fan of Halsey. This is mostly because of the sheer amount of explicitly presented themes and her all-round willingness to sing about some of the most damaging and significant events which have happened to her, including her bipolar disorder.

I particularly believe that 'Gasoline' off of her debut album carries this theme particularly well. For example, the lyric "you are part of a machine" shows her opinion that she is just a figure out of millions of others, and she isn't really that significant.

Regarding the sound of the song itself, it is extremely raw, loud and energetic. The chorus in particular sounds like many different people are saying it at once (if that is the best way to put it), giving us a view into her mindset.

Many of her other songs follow this. Notable examples of this include 'Strange Love' and 'Strangers', both songs of hers which follow this pattern.
